Library Groundbreaking

The Daland Memorial Library Trustees invite Mont Vernon residents and supporters to join them at the site of the new library off Grand Hill Road on Thursday, September 12th at 6pm to break ground on the new library and make history! Come fill a luminary bag to help "Light the Site" and kick off the project. Refreshments will be served under the library event tent immediately following. Open to the public.

6:00- Walk up the new town road to the site off Grand Hill Road
6:15-6:45- Shovel ceremony and group photos
6:45- Fill and place luminary bag on site
7:00- Walk back to the library for a celebration under the library tent. Keynote speaker Michael York, NH State Librarian. Unveiling of the new road name by the Mont Vernon Selectboard.

Children welcome! Miss JoAnn has organized fun activities and snack for the kids. Hard hats, construction vests, sandbox activity with construction toys and hopefully HUGE trucks on site!

Parking is available at the Mont Vernon Post Office next to the site and along Grand Hill Road. The new construction road to the site will be closed to vehicles for the ceremony for safety.

Can't make it to the event? Stop by the library anytime before Sept. 12th to decorate a white paper luminary bag to be added to help "LIGHT THE SITE" that evening!
