The story continues…
So many plot twists, the epic snowstorm, no internet communication for days, rescheduled meeting date, and yet we had a record turnout at Town Meeting last week!
We want to thank our loyal and generous donors and friends for joining us all there. We heard and felt the tremendous support in the room for this library project. Although we easily had the majority (56%), the bond required 60% of the votes in the room in order to build Mont Vernon's new library. Almost there!
We have one more year to meet Sherri Conyers' challenge and begin construction by late 2024. We are reaching out to other donors whose gifts or pledges include contingencies to assure their continued support.
We are continuing to take feedback and to learn from it. We know that with continued fundraising and building strategic partnerships, we will move the project forward.
Next steps:
Connect: share your post-town meeting feedback and ideas directly with the Board
Expand: Grow the MVLCF Board. Bring more leaders to the table, voices at the meetings, outreach and fundraising efforts over the next 12 months.
Raise more funds: expand and continue fundraising efforts including more corporate and foundation outreach.
Build project awareness: Gather information that we learned at the meeting, share facts, and create positive awareness around the project.
Thank you for your unwavering support! We are excited to have you with us as we move forward with even more information and motivation. This story is not over yet! You are helping us write a final chapter that ends with a new library for Mont Vernon.
With deep appreciation,
